Privacy

We go to great lengths to protect your privacy and security:

  • Your name or email address will never be given or sold to anyone at any time.
  • We will NOT use your email to send you our own promotions without your explicit permission, we leave that option up to you to be on our mailing list or not.
  • No one will ever know what you purchased, except you and us.
  • Your credit card information or banking information is never revealed to anyone.
  • We are using multiple security protection, to protect your private information. When you submit an order, it goes through an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer, see more about SSL below), which uses a high encryption to protect the information being transmitted, then the order is encrypted AGAIN using a different encryption algorithm, and the order is then transmitted to our local server immediately, and does not stay on our secured authorized only public server. Once we received your order on our local server, then we decrypt it locally with a special software.
  • If you are still unsure of giving your credit card information over the Internet, please feel free to phone in your order at 415-334-3900.

In addition, we cooperate with international authorities to prosecute credit card fraud.

Security

What kind of security procedures are in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of information under BugEye Digital's control?

BugEye Digital values your business and is committed to doing everything possible to make our online ordering process 100% secure.

Using technology provided by SSL, in addition to special security features built into popular browser software, the BugEye Digital site provides you with advanced online security.

Any credit card information you enter on our site is strongly encrypted by industry-standard protocol, SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). BugEye Digital uses SSL to communicate with secure browsers like Netscape and Internet Explorer. These browsers encrypt your credit card and personal information in a way that makes it extremely difficult for anyone to decode.

Once you have completed your order online, our security procedures do not end. For example, the moment you press "submit" to send you order, the encrypted order is sent directly to our order processing system. Your order is automatically pushed through the system and never "sits" in an unsecured queue. Further, our order processing system is not connected to the Internet, so no one can gain access to your information, we feel that this step is the safest way to conduct online business and ensure your security.

Ways to tell when you are in a secure section:  In all browsers, look for the "http" in the URL to change to "https." The added "s" represents that you have entered a secure area. The entire ordering process on BugEye Digital's online store, from when you decide to checkout until your order is confirmed, is conducted on a secure server. Further, many popular browsers have a symbol to indicate secure mode. Specifically:

Netscape Navigator 2.0/3.0 - A complete key will appear at the bottom left side of your browser
window if you are operating in secure mode. When unsecure, the key will be broken.

Netscape Communicator 4.0– A closed lock will appear at the bottom left side of your browser window when you are in a secure section.  When unsecure, the lock is open.
MS Internet Explorer– A closed lock on the lower right side of the browser window indicates a secure page. If unsecure, nothing is present.
